In the Music app on your Mac, choose Account> Join Apple Music. Follow the onscreen instructions. You may be asked to sign in with your Apple ID. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one during setup.

Apple Music is all about streaming. You pay a flat fee to unlock access to Apple Music’s entire catalog, but you don’t actually own the music you listen to. The files don’t live individually on your devices; you’re instead just listening to tracks stored remotely, that are owned by Apple.

The Apple Music app is where you can find all of your music, including music that you’ve imported into iTunes, purchased from the iTunes Store, and playlists and smart playlists that you’ve created in iTunes.
Cost. Unlike Spotify, Apple Music does not offer a free ad-supported music tier. A paid subscription is required for all Apple Music content. A standard Apple Music subscription costs $9.99 per month in the United States.
Apple Music streams at a bitrate of 256kbps, which seems lower than Spotify’s 320 kbp/s at face value, but it’s not exactly like-for-like because Apple Music uses its own AAC audio codec. Apple also defaults to audio of the highest quality, assuming your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
